TehachapiABC Mission Statement

To work alongside of and assist the Tehachapi Unified School district, and our community in the implementation of effective programs and stratagies that will have tangible, long lasting results in the prevention and the intervention of bullying in our schools and in our community.

First Press Release

Press Release: New Anti Bullying Organization formed in Tehachapi, by Robin Phillips

Tehachapi Anti Bullying Coalition was founded by Wendy Walsh, family, friends and concerned parents on September 29th, two days after the passing of Seth Walsh. As such, Seth’s tragic passing has encouraged many of us to become advocates for the victims of bullying!

We began Tehachapi Anti Bullying Coalition to educate and increase awareness and to provide resources and options for parents, children, schools and our community!

We are a 10 member board comprised of President Steven Vogel, Vice President Shauna Rushing, Secretary Dick Best, Treasurer Kathleen Ryan, along with Jamie and Robin Phillips, Marilin Smith, Evie Campbell-Best, Kim Schank and Yvette Stave. Over 30 concerned citizens are involved in this organization, thus far.

Our mission is to work alongside of and assist the Tehachapi Unified School District, law enforcement agencies and the Tehachapi community in implementing effective programs and strategies that will have tangible, lasting results in the prevention and intervention of bullying in our schools and community! And to promote awareness that bullying is a serious problem in our schools and community.  No county or state is exempt from this epidemic. WE must work together to identify and report this epidemic of bullying so that no child has to live in fear of tomorrow!

WE as a community, school district, and law enforcement agencies MUST unite in order to prevent another senseless tragedy! Policies, procedures and repercussions of one’s actions MUST be improved upon, implemented and enforced by those of us in a position of authority, whether that position be one of a private citizen or public employee.

WE as a community can NO longer stand by...we ALL must stand UP and work together in assisting and implementing effective programs.

Why not unite with us and make a difference for all of the children in our community?

The Tehachapi Anti Bullying Coalition is dedicated to making a difference…we challenge YOU to do the same!

We invite you to join us at our next public meeting. Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 @ 6:00 pm @ The Holiday Inn Express, Tehachapi, Ca.

Monthly Meetings, beginning January 2011: 1st Monday of the month @ 6 pm @ The Holiday Inn Express, Tehachapi, Ca.
